Postdoc position in economic dynamics using computational agent-based models with evolving sustainability and product differentiation

The University of Chieti-Pescara invites applications for the following postdoc position:

TITLE:

Investigating economic dynamics using computational agent-based models with evolving sustainability and product differentiation

DEADLINE: 19 May 2021 time 12:00

DESCRIPTION

The research consists of developing a computational model based on agents that contemplate introducing new production technologies that progressively reduce atmospheric emissions and pollutants. The main goal is to consider in the model the bidirectional interaction between production and environmental and climatic effects. The focus can be on both industrial production and food production. In the first case, it will be possible to study under what conditions it will be possible to obtain the diffusion of increasingly sustainable products. In the second case (relating to food production), the link between sustainability of production technologies and variability and climate change takes on central importance. In this case, the analysis will address the important issue of extending the minimum availability of food necessary for survival to the world population. Incentives from the financial system represent an important role in promoting increasingly sustainable investments. Therefore, the model will also cover the economy's financial sector to evaluate the effect of the economic policies implemented in this sector.
